Piper Cherokee PA32 Series Aircraft Information. Produced by Piper Aircraft, the Piper PA-32R is a six-seat, high-performance, single engine, all-metal fixed-wing aircraft. The PA-32R design began as the Piper Lance, a retractable gear version of the Piper Cherokee Six. However, later models are known as Saratogas. The Saratoga as a tapered wing replacing the "Hershey bar" wing on the Lance.
